What to Expect…..Session Information
When should I book my session?
The best time to book your Newborn session is during your second or third trimester of pregnancy. The ideal time to photograph your baby is when they are 5-10 days new, so we set a tentative date from your due date or scheduled c-section. This is so that we can easily move the date or time, if baby comes early or late. When the baby is born we ask you can call us with the arrival date and weight and we can confirm a suitable time/day for your session. We completely understand not every labour goes as planned and are sensitive to Mamas recovery, so we will work around you to schedule your session.
Regardless of our schedule, we always leave time for newborns! Many clients call us panicked that other photographers are advising that they are all booked. We keep a very loose schedule to allow for pregnancy and newborn sessions and we will fit newborns in as quick as we can.
Ideally it is best to call as soon as the baby is born or if it is a scheduled C Section, you can call ahead. We will never tell you are we are booked for the year or turn you away.
Maternity sessions are best scheduled for around 28-34 weeks, when the tummy is nice and round. This will vary with each woman. Some women who carry small, or gain little weight may choose to wait until they are 36-38 week, which is fine if you are healthy and no risk. You want to come when you feel good, have a nice belly but before the downward venture begins! Our studio always leaves room for the expectant Mamma and new arrivals, so if you near the end of your pregnancy and need a session, just call our studio we will fit you in!
These is no “best time” to schedule your Portrait session as it is always the best time. Babies grow so quickly and to capture all the changes and achievements we have created the CLP Milestone Club. By joining you need not worry about missing out on any precious milestones as you can book in to the CLP studio up to 12 times in the year. Yes that is once a month if you choose. So you’ll have all these memories forever. ( Excludes a /newborn session )
How long is the session?
Newborn sessions generally take about 2-4 hours so we can allow enough time for feeding and comforting when required.
Maternity sessions are approximately an hour but we put no specific time limit on the session and allow for multiple changes of wardrobe.
Portrait sessions are generally between 1-2 hours depending on poses and locations.
Milestone sessions are generally a 20- 30 min session as babies tire and bore easlily.
Where will my session be?
Newborn and Milestone sessions are in our Custom built studio located at 33 Brockholes Street Bullsbrook WA 6084. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am – 6pm and weekends by arrangement. Portrait and Maternity sessions can be done on location if you have somewhere that has meaning or that you want to remember. We do keep a flexible schedule as babies can be born at any time and your booking is penciled for 10 days from due date which can be altered as your bundle arrives.
How can I see my Photos?
After your session ( approximately 7-10 working days ) you come in to the studio for your viewing appointment at which time you can make your selections and place an order.
All Clients receive as a Gift from CLP a 5×7″ Photo print of any images they choose for their PhotoArt package along with a digital copy also.
Do I receive Digital files with my PhotoArt package?
The answer is YES. All clients receive a digital copy ( presented in High resolution on a USB ) of any prints chosen for your PhotoArt package.
Have you thought about WHY you want digital copies of your images? Is it to save to your phone ( which CLP provides with your App included with your session ), or to share with family and friends on Facebook ( your Photo App can do this also ), did you want to print them out your self ( which is not recommended for true colour and finish ), or was this how you thought you could keep your memories forever?
SORRY but research has shown that we live in a “Digital Dark Ages”, where we take more images than ever before, and we are going to have little or nothing to show of our existance. Technology is changing at such a fast rate that these images are going to be LOST forever.
YOU are NOT ALONE as that vast population stores their information and photos digitally, whether it be the cloud or a hard drive. So sadly in years to come when you want to look back at those memories they will be gone.
YOU WANT TO PRINT, and have every intention of doing so but life gets in the way so they stay on your computer or phone.
CLP provides you with 3 PhotoArt options so you will have memories to pass through the generations as with any option you receive Fine Art prints which are “archival quality”. We also know the importance of gifts which is why your digital files are our gift to you.
Every session booked also receives a Photo App for your Mobile device so you will have your memories in hand at all times.
